SeaQuest Volunteer
  • Running monthly Seaquest (first Sunday of every month at Pendennis Point 11:00-13:00).

  • Have a passion for the marine environment, especially marine mammals

  • Have the patients to observe for two hours at Pendennis and talk to volunteers and passers-by about the local marine life we have in Cornwall

Volunteer Coordinator
  • First contact with people who express an interest in volunteering with FMC.

  • Pair skill sets with projects and vacancies.

  • Liaise with Project coordinators.

Beach Clean Volunteer
  • Attending monthly beach cleans  

  • working with different organisations 

  • passionate about the marine environment 

  • Help sort and categorise litter 

  • work with members of the public

Education & Outreach Volunteer
  • Help attend school session 

  • Create new exciting content to engage children with the marine environment. 

  • work with school children at school or cubs and Brownie groups. 

  • Be energetic and happy to talk in front of groups of school children under 15

All positions are voluntary, in order to fulfil these roles members are expected to attend monthly committee meetings.

Event and/or





  • Have a passion for marine mammals 

  • Want to improve your marine ID skills

  • Love talking to other people about marine life

  • Able to help out once a month 

  • Able to promote FMC at conferences and large events 




Coordinator and



  • Previous experience with MailChimp would be an advantage but not essential. 

  • Collect news stories from other Coordinators about their projects . 

  • Email  members and attendees about upcoming events .

  • Compile a quarterly membership newsletter.


Refill Volunteer

  • #ReFillFalmouth 

  • Sign business up in Falmouth to become refill stations. 

  • Help us sell our refill bottles. 

  • Encourage business to use less single use plastic. 


Pacific Oyster



  • Have a passion for for the marine environment 

  • Working with Invasive species 

  • Want to improve your marine ID skills.

  • This projects works on the monitoring and removal of Pacific Oysters on rock shore.
